Annual General Meeting Monday 3rd April

Annual General Meeting Monday 3rd April

A reminder to all our members. The AGM will be held on Monday 3rd April at Cavanbah Hall at 9:00am. The only item on the agenda is the election of new office holders and committee members.

As you may be aware both our current president, Mary Voutos, and vice president, Helmut Zelno, are standing down and not seeking re-election.

So far we have been overwhelmed with nominations for president and vice president!!

We have a grand total of:

Positions on the committee are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and five committee members.

Every voluntary group should aim to have a regular turnover of committee members, fresh energy, fresh ideas etc.

Morning Tea/Lunch – Botanical Gardens 10:00am Friday 31st March

We are having a morning Tea/Lunch at the Botanical Gardens on Friday 31st March at 10:00am. Cost will be $10.00 per person, including a raffle ticket.

The raffle prize is a seafood dinner for two at Sawtell RSL valued at $120.00

If you wish to attend please contact Phyllis Taylor 0405 805 415 ASAP for catering purposes.

You can buy tickets in the raffle for the seafood dinner without attending morning tea at 3 for $5.00. See either Phyllis or Faye Rollins for tickets.

Trip to Moulin Rouge – 24th May

Action Coaches are running a bus trip to Brisbane to see Moulin Rouge on 24th May. There are 12 premium tickets available. If you are interested in going please see Kerin at Monday’s meeting or ring her on 0481 097 221. She has some pamphlets with all the details.

Other News – Medicare Rebates

Apparently Medicare have thousands of dollars sitting in a holding account as they do not have correct details for a lot of people. If you do not think you have received all your Medicare rebates it might be worth checking that all your details in your MyGov account are up to date.

If you are note sure how to check or you need help setting up a MyGov account ask one of our tutors and we can run a short workshop on setting up a MyGov account.
