Are you maximising the potential of your smart phone or tablet or are you just scratching the surface?
Smart phones and tablets are more that just communication and photographic devices.
In the Apple group at Coffs Senior Computer Club, we go below the surface and examine some of the other features and abilities of these hand held computers, with the main focus being on iPhone and iPad.
All applications that we focus on either preinstalled on the Apple device or freely downloaded from the App Store.
The only requirement is that participants know their passwords and keep the operating system of their device current.
The majority of the areas of work are participant based, with group members often facilitating the dynamics and direction of the sessions.
Support is provided by experienced Apple users operating in a small group situation allow for individual and group learning.
Areas that have been covered in the past few months include:
personalising the device to suit the individual through the Settings App, video and film making, photo editing, SIRI,
utilising and using maps, QR readers, the weather app,
sending and receiving emails and messages including attachments,
word processing and many more.
An example of movie making is the short CSCC video on the club web site filmed and produced by members of the group.
Members are welcome to visit the class or discuss how it could benefit you and your usage with Ray, Jo or Garry at anytime before or after the class time allocation.
