According to our constitution we are supposed to have quarterly General Meetings. COVID-19 threw a large spanner into the works, the last quarterly meeting was held on 21st October 2019. For those members that joined recently quarterly meetings are held at 9:00am on a Monday morning and usually are less than 30 minutes long. It’s a good opportunity to find out what the club has planned.
More important!! It is a forum for you, the members, to provide feedback and ideas on how the club can be improved.
So,
Quarterly General Meeting 10th October at 9:00am
Other news:
Cavanbah Hall Closed 26th September
Some essential maintenance work needs to be done on the hall. Normally this is scheduled over the summer break but due to the shortage of tradesmen at present, the council has to do this work when tradesmen are available.
We had planned to hold a workshop in the Neighbourhood Village to brain storm some ideas on how to improve the club on the 26th but due to circumstances beyond our control, this has been postponed.
Labour Day 3rd October
The week after the 26th is Labour Day in NSW. The club will not be meeting on this day. The next meeting will be 10th October which includes our quarterly general meeting.
Social Activities and Christmas Lunch
Sorry to mention it but it’s 103 days, 14 weeks, till Christmas. Time to think about where we will have our Christmas Lunch. We have been to Anchor’s Wharf Urunga a few times but they are still being rebuilt after their fire 18 months ago. Last year we went to Park Beach Surf Club.
If anyone has a suggestion for a venue for Christmas lunch please let the committee know.
Now that the weather has started to warm up it’s time to think about other social activities. Previously we have picnic lunch at the Botanical Gardens, barbeques at Diggers Beach etc. We are open to any suggestion for a social outing for the club
Providing Feedback
I’m not sure how many people have explored our website ( I suspect very few!).
On the Contact Us page there is a form you can fill out and someone from the committee will be in contact with you.
If you would like some technical assistance with any technology, laptop, phone, tablet etc. then fill in a Help Desk request and one of our tutors will be in contact with you.
That’s all Folks!!
Cheers,
Ian Scott
