Last Meeting of the Year

Our last meeting of the year will be Monday 12th December with a morning tea.

The club will start back in the New Year when school starts on 6th February 2023

Are you interested in purchasing Microsoft Office?

The club currently owns a copy of Microsoft Office 2010 which is now obsolete and not supported by Microsoft. We will be purchasing copies of Office 2019 to replace on all the club PCs. The more licences we purchase the cheaper the price. If any members are thinking of buying or upgrading Microsoft Office, the more licences we buy the cheaper the unit cost is.

What is the difference between Office 365 and Office 2019?

The licence for Office 2019 is a perpetual licence one off payment. Office 365 is an annual subscription, currently costing around $100/year and includes automatic updates. It does include 1 TByte of OneDrive cloud storage. If you need a lot of cloud storage then consider 365.

Which do I need?

For personal use Office 2019 is more than adequate. Microsoft’s own research has found that 95% of the purchasers of Office only use 5% of the functionality.

What do I get?

Both Office 2019 and 365 includes Access (database), Excel (spreadsheet), Word (documents), Power Point (presentations), Publisher (newsletters etc), Outlook (Email client), One Note (Ask Bruce Pollock, he’s the One Note Guru)

Newsletter Editor Required

I would dearly like to hand over the job of Newsletter Editor to someone else. I can understand authors getting Writer’s block. I need to get inspired to produce these newsletters, that’s why you have not received any recently. I am willing to train any fool who sticks their hand up to take on this job. It requires a little bit of knowledge of WordPress, the publishing software that runs this site, which I will show you what to do.
